South Korean steelmakers plan to raise prices in December

Report from our correspondent recently, manufacturer of coil of plate of Korea cold roll says the product that will raise December delivers a price.Posco said prices for cold-rolled coil and hot-dip galvanized steel will rise by 20,000 won a ton ($18.08 a ton) starting with orders in December.It is understood that modern iron is also considering price increases.

Rolling mills such as Dongguo Steel and Dongfang Steel said they may raise prices by 30,000 won ($27.12) a ton from December.Industry sources in South Korea said the two companies have completed the review and plan to notify customers of price increases from the fourth week of November.

In fact, the price of hot-rolled coil in South Korea has risen by 130,000 won/ton ($117.52 / ton) since the second half of this year.South Korean steelmakers believe the situation is ripe enough to raise prices, given tighter supply.
